		<description>Armour of Care (2026)
Armour of Care is an artistic installation exploring strategies of perceiving and dealing with unpaid care work. Reacting to current reactionist portrayals of care, both online and offline, it takes the process of garment making as a guideline on ways we in which we could interact with care and domesticity as individuals. The project abstracts visual clues associated with the household, such as handstitching techniques, the apron and the Butterick Walkaway dress, (a pattern that gained a lot of popularity in 1950s America) into new objects. Leaning onto current online phenomena of romanticizing conservative family structures through the tradwife trend, the usage and abstraction of the Butterick B4790 aims to unravel this idealization. These objects produced suggest acknowledging the social relevance of care work, as well as the demystification of care as a „labour of love“, done only by specific bodies. Furthermore, the experience of social reproduction as something communal, instead of an activity done in isolation by a single person, can extend our definition of care as well.

Through studies of texts by Helen Hester, as well as Silvia Federici, along with interviews conducted with Austrian feminists, the project suggests how to cope with the hardships of unpaid care work. Focusing specifically on Hesters Term „domestic realism“, which leans onto Mark Fishers „capitalistic realism“, the work proposes realistic ways of interacting with care instead of utopian strategies. With an ongoing wave of conservative ideologies flooding through the web, politics and the personal, acknowledging harmful rhetorics and proposing new ways of caring

Armour of Care has been funded by the Queerfem Fördertopf of ÖH and was part of the Needlebound Issue Vol. 3 - Thread Geographies. It has been presented at the Vienna Design Week 2026 during the talk „Design Revolution Now!“, hosted by the Institute of Design Research.

		<description>Stitched Services (2025)

The Stitched Services project addresses the visibility of unpaid care and household work an. This is done in the form of, and in dialogue with, textiles that are commonly found in one‘s own four walls. It was used as an artistic research for „Armour of Care“.

Hand embroidery is used as a medium to archive various household chores. Through text and brackets printed with a screen print, the objects can function as a diary for both an individual and a community. The categories of screen printing actively embrace communial care and several household assemblages, and the color of a stitched thread can symbolize actions over days, weeks, or months. Here, textiles are &#38;nbsp;intentionally used as a medium, which are just as&#38;nbsp; interwoven in our daily lives as unpaid care work itself.

Stitched Services has been exhibited in the Venice Biennial 2026 and Bad Ischgl, as part of the „Mental Load and invisible labour“ exhibition by the Zentrum Didaktik für Kunst und interdisziplinären Unterricht of Angewandte. &#38;nbsp;

		<description>Sonic Stretch (2025)&#38;nbsp;
Sonic Stretch is an instrument that can be played alone, or in collaboration with up to four different participants.By using force on textile surfaces that are connected to an Arduino by conductive yarn, the object produces sounds that are never constant, and directly linked to the amount of strength put into the distortion of the fabric. Framed by a metal construction, the textile elements get activated through pulling, pushing, turning and stretching. &#38;nbsp;The four Lycra textiles can be used either alone or together, creating space for a dialogue between the individual bodies, the processed force, and the material itself. Furthermore, active listening and observation of each others movements plays a key factor in experiencing the Sonic Stretch as well.

Sonic Stretch was created through a collaboration between the University of Applied Arts and the Institute for Composition, Music Theory and Music History at the University of Arts in Graz, and is a collaboration with Julia Hahnl and Benedikt Alphart. It was part of the “Building instruments – musical bastards” concert at the MUMUTH in Graz, Austria
